Job Description: Payroll Processor
Financial based company looking to grow and maintain payroll services. Business Cents (BC) offers several back-office solutions to small companies, including full-service payroll. BC is seeking a highly motivated, conscientious payroll processor who can address all our clients’ payroll needs. Knowledge/Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of payroll including pay types, statutory and voluntary deductions
• Basic understanding of federal and state payroll laws
• Holds CPP or FCP certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to become proficient in and understand the development and nuances of our payroll software through guided and self-directed training
• Desire to understand our ancillary services/products and learn integration processes
• Communicate effectively in spoken and written word for frequent client interaction
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
• Flexibility to keep up with continuous software updates and internal process improvements
• Willingness to embrace the existing culture and work well with other motivated employees
Daily Facets:
• Accurately process payroll for a variety of clients with varying needs and reporting methods
• Retrieve and review information from electronic time clocks and online payroll system for completeness and accuracy
• Enter new hires and employee/company changes (i.e.: rates, pay types, deductions)
• Contact clients to obtain payroll data including salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations, employee deductions, and/or any missing information
• Support clients with payroll compliance issues and questions
• Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions
• Identify and analyze issues and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain a high rate of client retention through quality service
• Perform other duties as assigned
