Job Description: Bookkeeper
Financial based company looking to grow and maintain bookkeeping and financial reporting services. Business Cents (BC) offers several back-office solutions to small companies. BC is seeking a bookkeeper who can address all our client’s ledger needs. Important to note is that one of BC’s priorities is to maintain a friendly, comfortable work culture for all employees and clients. That priority starts with the right person, as much as ability.
Daily Facets and Needed Skills:
• Previous experience in accounting and QuickBooks or related programs
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
• Maintaining records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements
• Applying strong accounting skills, including A/P, A/R, purchasing backup, journal entries, and all bookkeeping through financial statement preparation
• Preparing financial statements, e.g. monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Month end and quarterly closing, e.g. balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements
• Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
• Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
• Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions
• Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
• Participating in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
• Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with clients
· Communicate effectively in spoken and written word for frequent client interaction
· Embrace the existing culture and work well with other motivated employees
· Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
· Performing other duties as assigned
